Generation NeXt Parenting

Wow. I just finished it today, and I've gotta say it's the most insightful, fresh parenting book I've ever read. Besides the trip down memory lane, (Rubik's cubes and parachute pants, anyone?)Tricia Goyer offers some amazing encouragement to those of us who grew up in the 70's and 80's as latchkey kids and divorce casualties. For anyone who's ever asked, "what on earth am I doing here trying to be a parent?" or even if you've got it all figured out, her book offers hope and help. Whether your kid is an infant or a teenager, each chapter addresses one aspect of parenting that applies to every age and stage of growing up.

Tricia writes about real issues, with real examples and real help. She draws from a tremendous amount of research and hands on experience, with three kids of her own, whom she homeschools.

Leave a comment, and I'll enter your name in a drawing to win a free autographed copy of your very own.

I know Ms. Creek and Vel have already raised a total of seven kids and aren't in the market for parenting books anymore, but I'm surprised that a baby dragon wants to read it! But, they never have been predictable creatures.

I forgot to mention, I will hold the drawing next Monday, December 4th.

I want to be entered! I'm at the beginning of my "parental journey" and need all the help I can get! And I want that baby dragon's book if he wins...he doesn't even know how to read!

I do to know how to read and write and use the internet! You better not win it Lolly because I will cry baby dragon tears if you do and you know how stinky they are!

lol! It sounds like a wonderful book Lynetta! where did you find it at? I am in the same boat you are lolly! Does it give advice on boys who use the microwave to burn their shoes?? lol!

Anna Jo, it sounds like you have your hands full! I heard of the book on a writer's loop, and I've become quite a Tricia Goyer fan so I decided to help her promote it. She lives in Montana - very close to our home state!

Lolly, you and me both! I'm a little farther away from the beginning of the "parental journey" than you are, but new challenges arise every day. Just when you think you've got it figured out, they start adolescence and you're back to square one! :-)

Meanie, tell your Mama I love her and give her kisses from me, okay?

Christina,
Hey, welcome to my blog! I'm Angie Brent on the Scenes and Beans blog. It's a lot of fun, and a very clever marketing technique, I must say. You can be a Scenes and Beans blogger starting in January, as Brandilyn's starting a new batch of writers. I think all you need to do now is stay tuned into her blog for details. (And read Violet Dawn if you haven't already!) I'm going to stay on as Angie after December, I think. But readers are welcome to start in January sometime.
